So I’ve been listening to the enormous sigh of disappointment and the large scale gnashing of teeth, and I am puzzled. In response to Apple’s announcement of their new iPad, the internet bloggers and pundits seem, well, angry. Indeed, the response seems just as nasty as the internet’s response to the announcement of the iPod. I guess they were expecting something different. I can’t imagine why.
Back in November when I wrot

I can’t say I’m too surprised by the recently reduced pricing on Modbooks. The rather timid artist and academic discounts of last month got me thinking: events have put Axiotron in a bit of a spot.
Firstly, the determined rumors of an Apple tablet early next year have, judging from the comments I’ve heard, caused many people to put off any Modbook purchase until they see what Apple does. Not that this makes any sense. The Apple tablet, if it does come to pass, will be interesting, bea

While everyone uses computers differently, a detailed look at someone else’s approach is often a good jumping off point for your own. In any event, this post will demonstrate the versatility and power of Quicksilver’s

I’d been meaning to write a blog post on how much fun it is to use a Modbook with Quicksilver and the Abracadabra pen gestures plug-in installed. After I got a ways into it, I realized how inadequate my words were to explain how it works or how cool it is, so I made a screen cast instead. I hope you enjoy it.
Next weekend, I’ll walk th

Axiontron’s new Quickscript Handwriting recognition application comes with a Macro service called Kopernikus, which allows the user to run an AppleScript or an Automator action after handwriting a Keyword. The idea is that if one wants to quit an application, one can handwrite “quit,” and the frontmost app will quit. Indeed, Quickscript comes with just such a quit Apple

The Modbookish is an attempt to bring back the active, fun online community of Modbook users and waiting-to-be Modbook Users that existed in the spring of 2008. A few remnants of that site still exists. With luck, the community here will be as vibrant as that one once was.
So, come in, take off your shoes – we are fully carpeted – and have a look around.
Visit the maps to see where other recent visitors to the Modbookish come from.
Make a profile page and tell us about yourself, your Modbook, maybe even start a blog.
Post samples of your artwork created on a Modbook or a photo of your Modbook in use.
Join or start a forum disussion. Comment, ask a question, help someone else, or just share some of your modbook experiences.
If you have any questions about the Modbookish community, start a thread in the Community/Forum Questions and Suggestions section of the Forum or email your friendly moderator.
